ABOUT US

Grangewilliam Stud has been owned and operated by the Corcoran family since 1989 when it was purchased from the estate of the late Capt Tim Rogers.

John and Anne Corcoran moved from Maranui Farm near Wanganui where they stood founding sire War Hawk II from 1975. Grangewilliam is now owned and operated by son Mark Corcoran and his wife Jane who have two teenage children, Annabel and Toby.

Grangewilliam Stud is one of only a handful of remaining New Zealand farms to have sold yearlings at every national yearling sale held at Karaka.

The Grangewilliam Egmont ash soil produces some of the highest quality grass in the country, ensuring the best for mares and young stock.  The full selection of facilities on site provides a complete equine complex for the agistment and breeding of thoroughbreds.

The Corcoran family have bred, reared or sold a multitude of top horses, most notably Doriemus (Melbourne and Caulfield Cups winner), Happyanunoit (multiple USA Gr.1 winner), Verry Ellegant, Gytrash,  Drum, Kilmore Quay, Apollo Run, Frenetic, etc

Past stallions include: Al Akbar (damsire of world champion Winx), Brilliance, Cache of Gold, Gay Apollo, Haradasun, Norman Pentaquad, Sandtrap, Stark South, War Hawk II, Yachtie, etc.

Current Stallions: Derryn, The Bold One and Zed
